Missing woman found

Alaska State Troopers in Bethel received a report on June 16, 2023 that Kimberly Fitka O’Domin, age 40 of Marshall, was missing in Marshall, Alaska. O’Domin was last seen sometime late on June 15, 2023 or early June 16th, 2023. Members of the community including the VPO’s from Marshall performed a search of the river, the surrounding area with no sign of O’Domin.

“At this time AST is not investigating this as a criminal incident,” stated the Alaska Department of Public Safety in an online dispatch post dated June 20th, 2023.

“O’Domin went missing on June 15, 2023 in Marshall, AK. Her family reported her disappearance to the Alaska State Troopers, but they didn’t get involved until 5 days later. She was found 100 + miles down the river, about 30 miles above Emmonak, AK. Her family spent the first couple of days searching for her, with circumstances that were suspicious and lead them to believe she just didn’t disappear. Community members joined her family in the search efforts on the second day. After a land search for Kimberly, the Search and Rescue Volunteers began searching the river near her last known location. Volunteers from surrounding villages joined in on the search, they came from Russian Mission, St. Mary’s, Pitka’s Point, Mountain Village, Kotlik, and Emmonak, Alaska. More than a week (9 days later) another set of AST’s arrived with a couple of Investigators. Then they came again 12 days later,” said a post on the GoFundMe page for Kimberly O’Domin.

A couple who wasn’t involved in the search discovered her body in the Yukon river about 30 miles above Emmonak.
