Thank You So Much For Your Incredible Support

Friend,

We want to thank all of you who shared our belief that people deserve a chance to succeed and prosper in this world, whether born rich or poor, to a healthy family or one that struggles. Thank you for believing that every person deserves equal rights, regardless of race, gender, where you live, or whom you love. All your support has been an incredible honor to us.

Thank you for believing that children deserve an amazing education, and the opportunity to achieve their dreams, not shuttered schools that rob children and students of opportunity in life.

We were lucky to have YOU, and great staff and volunteers, including many of you who contributed more than you could afford and repeatedly. We know you helped because you want a better state for your neighbors.

Voters have spoken, and it will be a steep climb for absentee and early vote ballots to change the current result (early and absentee ballots from after November 4 will be counted in the next 10 days). Possible but unlikely. On a bright note, we’ll hopefully soon have an amazing new Congresswoman who’ll stand up to protect all of us.

There was a David vs. Goliath aspect of this race we thought we could overcome, but in retrospect, haven’t (so far), and it likely made a difference. Unlimited money in politics is awful policy. Governor Dunleavy, who isn’t shy about filing lawsuits for headlines, was purposeful in deciding not to appeal a ruling striking down our campaign donation limits – despite a Court Order that he explain why he wasn’t appealing to defend our law.

That resulted in over $1.5 million in $50,000 – $200,000 and larger Outside donations to our opponents’, one of whom we outpolled, but one of whom we haven’t. You & your neighbors couldn’t afford to match that money flood. I’m proud we raised more funds, from more Alaskans than our opponents (not counting mega donations of $50,000 and more).

It turned out to be too great an advantage to overcome in extra TV, Radio, Social Media, and Streaming ads, and voter outreach we couldn’t match.

Many of you have said we won every broadcasted debate and had the strongest message and the strongest campaign. We can’t say for sure how level funding would have changed the outcome of this race. But money matters too much in campaigns, and it’s why we fundraise. We’ll be there to work on a voter initiative to put limits back on Alaska campaign donations, so your voices are not treated less importantly than the voices of Outside donors.

We will remain your allies as we battle to give children the opportunity they deserve. As we battle for equal opportunity for all, equal policing in all communities instead of no police in too many, equal justice, and a woman’s right to be free to make her own decisions about her own body.

We won’t be silent about the silent crises we’ve learned about from traveling this state, and that too many leaders avoid. Mental health, education, affordable housing and child care crises that we won’t let ant governor remain silent on, because they have to be solved.

It’s an honor to stand with you as allies as we march this state forward.

Thank you So Much!

Thank You For Your Support

Hi there,

As we all patiently await for the election results until November 23rd… the emotions I feel are almost indescribable. I want to say thank you. Thank you for voting and participating in the democratic process. Thank you for encouraging your friends and family to do the same. Thank you for believing in me and being instrumental in this grassroots movement. But most importantly, thank you for having HOPE. Hope for change. Hope for our beautiful state of Alaska. Hope for the younger generation so that they may have a bright and prosperous future. Hope is what unites us and we must always embrace it.

Looking back on this journey, I am reminded of all of the fond and cherished memories that I have gained since the start of the campaign. From the Kick-Off in May to the countless doors in Midtown, to the lemonade stands under the hot sun to the Election Day sign-waving in the bitter cold, I feel like because of special moments — I have already won. Reflecting on the stories that I have heard along the trail, I can vividly recall the concerns shared by my fellow Alaskans. Chris, who is currently renovating a mobile home for one of his friends in Spenard, cares about addressing public safety and crime in the area. Damian, a local small business owner who frequents various food truck venues, wants to keep our economy stable and attractive so that it isn’t excessively difficult or burdensome to find people to hire. Bill, who works at an after-school program for kids, wants to ensure that childcare is affordable and accessible and those unnecessary barriers are eliminated or reduced. These stories from the trail are the fuel that inspires and motivates me to persevere in my efforts to work toward the Alaska that we ALL deserve.

Every day, YOU and YOUR story is what keeps the momentum alive. Keep staying positive and keep holding onto hope. That is how we will move forward and that is how we will create change — together.

A glimpse of hope. Team Alyse is a family, thank you for being a part of it.

P.S. If you have a yard sign, we will be happy to come pick it up! Please reply with your address to this email.

Senator Murkowski Honors American Veterans

U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) shared the following message with Alaskans in recognition of Veterans Day:

Veterans Day is an opportunity to honor Americans who have answered the call to serve, whether in times of peace or in times of war. We owe so much to those who have sacrificed their safety, their time, and so much more in the name of America’s freedom and security.

We are so fortunate that so many Veterans call Alaska home. They are our friends, our family, our co-workers, and our neighbors. Veterans demonstrate commitment, courage, strength, and perseverance. Today we honor them for their devotion to duty.

We also thank the families of our Veterans, as we know their lives have been deeply impacted by the duty of their loved ones.

My deepest gratitude goes out to all those who have fought and served honorably. We owe each of them a sincere thank you for the lives we live today and the freedoms they protect.

God bless.
