Native Alaskan artist Michael Hootch was born in the Soviet Union and raised in Emmonak, Alaska, a small Eskimo village located on the lower Yukon Delta.
Michael is a self-taught artist. He created his character Little Hootch when he was just a young boy.
Little Hootch depicts himself as a child.
His drawings are based on his own childhood experiences,
Alaskan Native culture, storytelling and folklore.
