Never lie to your children, they will not trust you anymore. Never say, "I have no Money" and then go to Bingo or other gambling place. Your Child will have remorse toward you.

1/24/06

Talk to your Children from small to adult. Never reprimand them in front of others, they will lose their cool. Talk to them in private and they will be your friends for life.

Children will also pick up the “good” deeds from you. They will want to be helpful if you take them along to bring something to your Elders, relatives, and neighbors. Teach that giving is better than receiving.

1/10/06

Teach your children the right way of living. Refrain from drugs, alcohol, and gambling. They are watching you. They will copy you sometime in their life and your “bad” habits will come out through them later on in their lives.

Frowning takes moremuscles than smiling. It is hard work. Smiling on the other hand is relaxing.

Never take for granted the fact that you are healthy. Take steps to stay in good health. Eat right and exercise whenever you can.

Love yourself, respect yourself and don't let anyone put you down. Let them think what they will. After all, "All good things thoughts come from the heart".

Pray with your children and increase the bond in your family.

If you abuse an elder, it will boomerang back to you when you reach that age. Believe me, it happens.

Children are fragile and very precious. Treat them accordingly.

Treat others with respect and you will reap tenfold in return. Remember, they have the same feelings that you have.

Wave at people when you're a passenger in the car, you will get different expressions from them that will amuse you.

Before you squander your money away, make sure you will not be sorry you did that in the first place so you won't go around your friends for a loan.

It is good to have friends that are true no matter what!! They are very precious and dear to us.

Love your God, your spouse, partner, children, parents, neighbors and yourself.

Be good to your wife and help around the house. Take your child out and play with them in the snow - make a snowman! Children cherish those moments with their parents when they are young.

If you need help with making parkas for your children, ask your neighbors who already are making those Yup’ik clothes. They will gladly accommodate you.

Never lie to your children; they will not trust you anymore. Never say, "I have no money," and then go to bingo or other gambling place. Your child will have remorse toward you.

Make sure your children have enough food to eat and warm clothes for this fall and the winter that is almost here.

Welcome to my two new Great Grandchildren - Qayuq and Qulic’aq. God is good to me. He provides me with descendants.

Thanks to those young men who gave Paul and I fresh moose, white fish, cloudberries, and other fall time foods. God will surely Bless you and your Family.

Teach your children to be responsible in everything they do

Be proud of who you are and do not let anyone tell you otherwise. There is only one of you. We may look alike, but our mind, our skeletal structure, and the way we do things is our own. No one is responsible for our actions.

There is a Yup’ik saying: "Children only think of their stomachs." It doesn't matter whether their socks match or their clothes for that matter. When a child is full of food, there are no worries. The same goes for adults.

Talking to yourself will enhance your knowledge of yourself. You will have a better outlook on life and can identify with things around you.

Take time to meditate. You will reap relief from stress. Greet those you meet today with a smile. They will wonder what you’ve been up to.

Make sure your children are well fed before they go to school. The first meal of the day is most important to their growing bodies. It also activates their young minds to face the world that day.

Teach your children to respect your neighbors’ property. Never let your children play in other people's yards without permission.

Take time to talk to your spouse and spent time with them every day, i.e. reading, singing, going to the post office, the store, and Church. You will build a relationship that will last for the life of your marriage. It will also show your children the importance of a Family life. Remember, our actions speak louder than what we say.

The good that you give your children, will come back a hundred fold when they start doing things for themselves.

10/1/03

Many marriages are broken by single women who think their infatuation with the married man will not hurt.

It hurts the wife, the children the inlaws and the family of both the victim and the man who is not strong enough to uphold his end of the bargain.

9/24/03

Marriage is a life long commitment between two people.

It should not be taken lightly as different clothing to change everytime it gets dirty.

9/10/03

The more love you give out, the more comes to replace the love you gave away.

9/3/03

Enjoy the summer. Take an Elder out for a ride in your car.

Spend time with your family outside. Have a cookout.

8/27/03

Never beg from people when you can work for it.

Even "good" people get tired of those who come and eat and never help with chores.

8/13/03

Take care of the fish this summer. Get your hands dirty and slimy.

You shall have fish to eat this winter.

7/30/03

Let the sun shine out from within your soul.

Others will be inspired by you.

7/2/03

Let your smile bring others hope that there are people who are real down to earth and care about you.
